What is a Yoni Egg?
Yoni eggs are egg-shaped stones or crystals designed as an alternative therapeutic tool. Some people also know them as Vaginal Crystal Eggs. They are used as a tool to work on different aspects of the physical body work and on an emotional and spiritual level.
The word “yoni” comes from Sanskrit and means vagina, uterus, source, womb. The yoni symbolizes Shakti, the feminine and primordial energy of the universe. These eggs were already used thousands of years ago in China; the emperor's concubines were famous for being the best lovers thanks to yoni eggs.
Uses of Yoni Eggs
Yoni eggs serve to improve the connection with female sexual energy. In addition, they allow us to get to know our bodies better, creating a mind-vagina link when performing rituals and/or exercises with them.
They help to work and better understand the emotions and feelings that have been stored, stagnant in the genital area, a female energy center with great power: the power to create and give life. And we are not referring only to the enormous power of bringing a human being to this planet, but also to gestating and creating projects in many other areas.

Jade Nephrite Yoni Egg
The Jade Nephrite yoni egg is the one that is usually used to start with the practice of yoni eggs, although it will always depend on each person and what needs to be worked on at the moment. Nephrite jade is also known as "kidney stone" due to its healing power for pathologies in this human body organ.
This stone heals sexuality and returns to establish the connection with the body. The name nephrite comes from the ancient Greek "nephros," which means kidneys. This stone has been known for hundreds of years and has been given therapeutic use to treat kidney diseases.
Likewise, it helps us to know what we hide inside us by enlivening dreams while we sleep. It generates balance in the body-mind: reactive in case of apathy and calm if there is too much anger or tension.
Black Obsidian Yoni Egg
The black obsidian egg is the most famous yoni egg. Obsidian is an abundant gemstone on Earth and one of the most powerful and healing crystals. The fast cooling of the lava forms black obsidian gemstones. It has been used since thousands of years ago in prehistoric rituals, and the proof of it has been thanks to Paleolithic funerary sites.
Black obsidian makes us face our darkest self, allowing us to challenge it and creating the opportunity to rise and embrace our true essence. It helps by resolving traumas, blocks, or fears, fighting against them, and breaking patterns we don't want to keep having in our lives.
The obsidian egg helps us ground ourselves; Being a stone from within the earth, it has great power to empower and strengthen us.
Rose Quarts Yoni Egg
Rose Quartz Yoni Egg is also highly recognized worldwide. Known as "the stone of the heart," this mineral is directly linked to love and the heart, which is closely linked to fertility.
It helps to rediscover oneself, with its sensitivity and unconditional and universal love, in addition to freeing us from worries and opening the doors creating the necessary tools to set boundaries. After this, we can take care of ourselves, embracing what happens around us with unconditional love.
Rose quartz is a true fertility enhancer and can create a strong connection to our femininity, Yin or Shakti.
Other Types of Vaginal Eggs
In addition to these three minerals, there are other types of yoni eggs, but their use is less common. Among them are the white quartz egg, the tiger's eye egg, or the lapis lazuli yoni egg, but not all are indicated for internal use.
For the crystal or stone to be used internally (inside the vaginal canal), it is essential that it be natural and that its hardness be equal to or greater than 6.0 on the Mohs scale of mineral hardness. There are stones that, although they are used to make yoni eggs, their internal use is not indicated since, having less hardness, they are more porous and can cause infections.

How To Clean My Yoni Egg? Special Cares You Need to Know
Yoni eggs need two types of cleaning: physical and energetic cleaning.
When you receive your yoni egg, you should first make sure that it does not have cracks that can be seen with your fingers. In particular, you should look over your egg and check that it has not suffered blows or has been damaged (especially if you received it by post). Always make sure that it is in perfect condition before using it internally.
Physical Cleansing of the Yoni Egg
For your Yoni Egg Physical Cleaning, we recommend the following process:
- Put the egg inside a pot with water at room temperature.
- Bring the pot to a boil over medium heat.
- Watch all the time, and when tiny bubbles begin to appear before the boiling point, remove or turn off the heat. Wait for the water to cool down and carefully remove the egg.
- Dry with a clean cloth and store in the Yoni Samsara protective bag.
It is essential to avoid sudden temperature changes with the yoni egg. Remember that they are natural crystals and could break.
Between every use, it is optional to carry out this same process. It can be cleaned with mild soap, water, and a few drops of tea tree essential oil. It is important to keep the egg clean and dry inside its bag to ensure it is always clean, and avoid any health issues.
Energy Cleansing of Your Yoni Eggs
Stones and crystals store energy, and it is important to clean them energetically, especially before starting to use them, as they could keep the energy of people who have previously touched them (manufacturing process, shipping).
There are different ways to perform energy cleansing, from smoking your yoni egg with palo santo or sage, leave it under the light of the full moon, or even putting it in a covered glass jar and burying it in the ground during the night of the new moon. In our online yoni egg courses we tell you the different ways in detail, as well as help you use and care for your yoni eggs.
